Captain Jennings Rose

Captain Jennins is a North Carolina native living on the western Pamlico Sound. Growing up in Eastern NC, he was fortunate to be on the water frequently. His passion for fishing and hunting started at an early age, and he began mating on charter boats in high school and obtained his Captains License shortly after. Over the years he has targeted a lot of species both inshore and offshore, and enjoys the diversity of fishing options our state has to offer. Capt. Rose has built his boats specifically to fish the water in his “backyard”; from the Neuse River and Pamlico sound to the reefs off the southern Outer Banks. He enjoys showing clients of all ages and skill levels all of what our fisheries have to offer here in the Old North State.

The Fleet

Maverick 17 HPX-S

The revolutionary skiff that has cracked the code of sacrificing running comfort, range and poling performance for the sake of getting super shallow. The 17 HPX-S’s one of a kind hull combines the knowledge of the most experienced skiff designing team in the business, the latest in CAD designed naval architecture, and advanced aeronautic technologies. The result is a skiff that floats in less than 6″ inches of water, drives like a sports car while keeping its occupants exceptionally dry and comfortable, and poles with precision and complete stealth. Sounds too good to be true? It was until now.

Jones Brothers 23 Cape Fisherman

The Cape Fisherman 23 is hands down one of the most versatile guide boats on the market. Equipped with a full tower, this boat is incredible for sightfishing inshore and nearshore, but still has enough freeboard to run offshore. With its open layout, this boat is great for large groups of anglers. Whether we are anchored up bait fishing or sightfishing for cobia and tarpon, this boat gets the job done!

FAQ

Do I need a fishing licence?
No. Eastern Angling has blanket licensing on both vessels so you are not required to buy a license.
Do we need to tip our guide?
Tips are not required but they are greatly appreciated! Your guide works very hard before during and after your time on the water to make sure that you experience is everything that it can be.
What Should I bring?
  • We will have a cooler full of ice and bottled water. We will have plenty of extra cooler room for any snacks, lunches, or drinks you would like to bring.
  • Sunscreen (NO SPRAY SUNSCREEN)
  • Rain Gear Even if there is no rain in the forecast, a rain jacket and rain paints are always good to have with you. Especially in the colder months.
  • Adequate Clothing In the summer months be sure to wear sun rated clothing that breathes well and in the cooler months be sure to bring plenty of layers.
  • Polarized Sunglasses These will help you see fish in the water and protect your eyes.
  • Non Marking Shoes You will not be able to bring black soled shoes on the boat, they leave marks on the boat that are very hard to get off.
What If we need to use the bathroom?

Though our boats do not have bathrooms, there are usually plenty of places that we can pull the boat up to and use the bathroom. In some areas there will be marinas nearby that we can use if necessary.

What's your Deposit/cancellation policy?

A $100 deposit is required for each day that you wish to book. If you cancel within 30 days of your scheduled trip, you forfeit your deposit. If you cancel within 10 days of your scheduled trip you will be required to pay the full cost. You can rebook within 6 months from that canceled day using this payment as a full credit. The reason we require a full payment if the client cancels inside 10 days is to protect our guides.  It is extremely hard to book a day with such short notice. If the trip is canceled due to weather or boat issues a full refund will be issued to the customer.
