ROANOKE RIVER ROCKFISH

Spring on the Roanoke River is a truly special time of year. Starting in early April striped bass, locally called rockfish, will migrate from the Albemarle Sound and mouth of the Roanoke River to their spawning grounds near Weldon North Carolina. The fishing can be phenomenal with 50-100 fish per trip being common. This is as close to catching and not fishing as it gets here in NC, and therefore is perfect for young anglers to get hooked on the sport. We have the best live bait that the law will allow and all equipment is provided. The scenery along the Roanoke River is something special and we normally see a variety of wildlife as well.
